Darkness stops being a gap
Thermal imaging reads warmth, so it does not need a moon, a deck light or a spotlight. Panoblu stares: every bearing at once, all night, rather than one bearing at a time wherever a camera is aimed. The watch can look anywhere, and look back at anything.
The layer a vessel is usually missing
Many vessels already have daylight cameras and nothing that works after dark. Panoblu IR adds exactly that missing layer on its own mast position — a straightforward retrofit for night-navigation-first owners, and the configuration naval and commercial operators ask for.
Discretion, by the nature of the sensor
Thermal imagery carries no identifiable visual detail: it shows shape and warmth, not faces. For owners who would rather have no visible-light video aboard, that makes it the comfortable choice.
What the system is looking through
Every Panoblu shares the same housing; what differs between models is which arrays are fitted. This is a plan view from directly above, with the bow at the top — each mark is a lens, and together they cover the full circle and well above and below it.

Planning and commissioning
Panoblu engineering with the yard and the crew: installation planning, drawings, engineering works and commissioning, so the installation is designed before anyone lifts a tool.
A better view, and a memory of it
Panoblu gives the people aboard something they have never had: the whole horizon, kept. What that means in practice is worth being clear about before it is aboard.
The system watches and remembers; the crew interprets. It is persistent imagery for human eyes and human judgement — the officer of the watch stays the one who decides what matters.
Because everything is recorded, questions that used to be unanswerable get answered: what passed at 04:00, how the anchorage filled, when the tender left. Around two months stays on board, and how long it keeps is configurable to the vessel.
Storage, the viewer and capture live inside the masthead unit, so the system is complete on its own. Server software, cloud reach and the upward thermal add-on can all come later.
